FEATURED PROJECTS

Must Museum

Showcasing and liberating existing buildings in M16 from surrounding building context is the intention behind the proposal.

Technical informationsGoogle MapsOpenStreetMap

The intention is also to preserve and make the architecture visible from the cityside as well as from the main access in Musé street.

New building addition is recommended located partly below grade towards Lagårds road and partly on the south side. Establishing exhibition space underneath the park as well as the transforming of M16 is suggested as first phase, while the new addition south of M16 can be included in second phase. The height should be allowed up to the parapet of the existing buiulding, alternately up to the sky-lights. The architectural language should be modern and minimalistic so as not to compete with the historic building mass.

A passage has been illustrated through the new addition with an outdoor staircase leading up from the museum garden to Lagårdskleivå and the museum entrances. Glasspartitions here, will yield glimpses of the museum and its contents to passers by. The museum park should be re-establishedon the roof of the new exhibition areas and transform into a row of continuous atrium spaces towards the inclination by the motorway. The location of these spaces adapt to existing trees that are to be preserved.
